W loses his poodle

Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, will step down next month.

His rule was welcomed at first thanks to his emulation of Bill Clinton-style moderate liberalism. The UK enjoyed economic growth and decreased crime. But when he started supporting the W regime and its wars, his popularity tanked, both among British voters and in the world community.

It looks like Gordon Brown, another Labour MP, will take over. I don't know much about him, so I don't know what kind of a direction the UK will take after Blair's departure. But I do sincerely hope that Brown's direction will take Blair's best, while taking the UK away from W's misadventures.

The Liberal Democrats, UK's #3 party, wants to have the Queen call a general election. It is unlikely to happen, however. And even with a general election, the Labours are most likely to hold onto their power. I certainly don't look forward to the Tories coming back to power in the UK.
